CONVENTIONS of a CD digipak:- artist/band name
- song/album name
- tracklist
- visual images that relate to the song/album
- booklet containing information on the songs and the lyrics
- record label name and logo
things we are taking into account for the making of our digipak for moves like jagger:
- The front cover: This usually contains the main image, artist name and song title
- Inside cover: this usually contains a booklet with all the songs inside and their lyrics. There can be a background image for when the booklet is removed
- Spine: This is the part of the digipak contains the least effort, as it simply states the artist name, song/album title and record company name, however it is still important as the audience can use the spine the quickly recognise what the cd pack contains.
- The back cover: This part has the track list which is the most important part, however it also has the record company and production names on it and the barcode in the corner.
- Inside back cover: this is where the cd is actually placed, however once the cd is removed there isn't a blank space however usually a symbol or image which relates with the band/artist.

Conventions of a magazine advert
CONVENTIONS of a magazine advert:
- visual image connected to artist/song
- band or artist name - this allows the audience to easily identify the band or artist
- date of release of album
- record company name or logo
The magazine advert must relate to the song, making it distinctive and easily recognizable for the target audience to see.
we have taken into account of these conventions when thinking about the type of magazine advert we want for our music video.

Unconventional Digipak
Unlike the Gorillaz album advert, the digipak does not follow the typical conventions. This pack doesn't contain the bands name or or even the name of the album. The record label isn't mentioned either, the only convention that they have used, and have used a lot of is band imagery as the pack has images on it followed by an extra booklet with pictures in. For our music video's digipak we want to follow the conventions of the music video as it will tie in with the theme of the video.

Beyonce's Digipak
This is Beyonce's 2005 album 'B'day' this follows most of the conventions of a traditional digipak. The conventions it includes is artist imagery, information about the artist, the tracklist on the CD, the artists name and album title on the front cover and the record label printed on to the CD. The artist imagery is shown on the inside sleeve of the cover, it shows four images of Beyonce so that straight away when people pick up the CD they can see that it is Beyonce's CD. The information on the artist is a lengthy paragraph so that people can relate and find out more about Beyonce and the album. The tracklist is on one of the CD's so this could also engage the audience if they already know and like a few of her songs. The artist name and album title on the front cover will capture the audiences attention. The artists name is in big writing so this will target the audience as they wont have to search for whose cd it is. However the front image of Beyonce is the main focus, capturing the audience and drawing their attention.

Killers Digipak
The killers digipak is another item that also follows the conventions. they have put artist imagery into the pack so the audience can get visual details about the album they have put a lengthy bit of text with details about the band and the album and the songs that are included in it. they also show the front cover which has the bands name in bold as well as the album name. on the CD the band name is shown again along side the record label. The disk itself has a design on it that matches the rest of the digipak, showing that all the images and designs are related to one another.

Gorillaz magazine advert
For the gorillaz album advert they have used all the typical conventions of a advert such as; group imagery, so audiences can identify the artist. They also have the album name and artist name in bold white font at the top to contrast the black page to make it stand out and catch the audiences eye. The date of release is on the advert to inform people as well as a bit of information about extras on the disk/dvd. In addition to all this they also have the bands logo on the poster to show its official.
