For our music video we realised we need a variety of props and costumes. For the costumes we decided ‘American 70’s’ look would be best for this as this was Mick Jagger’s uprising time. As this type of clothing isn’t what we would usually opt for we thought we should go to local Vintage shops and see what we could find. The first shop we went into wasn’t a success, although the second had a few hidden treasures. We firstly found a pair of women’s leather trousers with silver studs down the side- we thought our Mick Jagger could wear these. Even though they are women’s we still thought this would work well as Mick Jagger was known for his tight clothing. Secondly we found a gold leather suit – we thought it was quite camp. It also played in our mind that we had seen a famous celebrity in something like this but we couldn’t quite place our finger on it. However after some research we realised it was none other than Elvis Presley and Perez Hilton. We then discussed what we wanted our Christina Aguilera to wear, in our heads we saw a 70’s inspired red dress, preferably with tassels. Although, in our third shop we found a purple dress with black tassels – it wasn’t what we had first envisioned but it fit perfectly with the look we wanted. We decided that all of our extras can use there own clothes; however we have to approve them first to make sure they fit into our ‘look policy’. Our next task of the day was to find some backdrops for our ‘dance scenes’. We thought big Union Jacks, and peace signs would go well, but we found it a struggle to find these. Instead we thought we could make them from sheets of material and painting what we wanted on them. After visiting a few material shops we found what we was looking for and headed off to make them into proper backdrops.
