Magazine Advertisment

We had to start ancillary task, making our magazine advert and cd digi pack, as the computers in our school were having some technical issues, therefore to make the best of our time, we started to make our cd digi pack. However we then came across another computer issue as our template wouldn't download onto the computer. therefore we got to producing our magazine advert. We started producing the advert on pages, however decided to change to using the software Photoshop as the majority of member within our group are more comfortable using this program. 

For research we googled other magazine articles, and came across Gwen Steffani's magazine article for one of her albums. This inspired us, as the article was fun and full of colour and life. This is the direction we want to take with our article as we feel the song is also like this. 

This gave us many ideas on the style and layout of our article and what things we have to put on our article. For example we needed to put on the logo of the record company. 

These are two more examples of magazine advertisements for albums, the one on the left is quite naturistic, which fits the artist as they are an indie band. The right one, is more straight forward and blunt, both adverts fit the image the artist wants to display to their fans. 

CONVENTIONS of a magazine advert:

• visual image connected to artist/song
• band or artist name - this allows the audience to easily identify the band or artist
• date of release of album
• record company name or logo

The magazine advert must relate to the song, making it distinctive and easily recognizable for the target audience to see.
